EDUKASI TINDAKAN PELECEHAN SEKSUAL SERTA PENANGANANNYA PADA SISWA DI SMKN 1 KIARAPEDES

Abstract

Sexual harassment in the school environment is a serious issue that requires special attention, especially in efforts to prevent and handle it. Students' lack of understanding of the form, impact, and protective measures against sexual harassment can increase the risk of such cases occurring. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of education regarding sexual harassment and its handling strategies for students at SMKN 1 Kiarapedes. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the study show that education provided in the form of seminars, training, and socialization has a significant impact on increasing students' awareness of various forms of sexual harassment, how to prevent it, and reporting procedures available in schools. In addition, the school's policy in providing psychological assistance services to victims has been proven to be helpful in their mental and emotional recovery process. However, this study also found that there are still obstacles in the implementation of education and handling, such as a lack of coordination between schools, parents, and related institutions in handling cases of sexual harassment. In addition, cultural factors and students' fear of reporting are still the main challenges in efforts to prevent and handle cases of harassment in the school environment. Therefore, better synergy is needed between schools, educators, parents, and government agencies to create an educational environment that is safe, comfortable, and free from sexual harassment. In addition, stricter policies and increased training for teachers and education staff are needed in recognizing and following up on cases of sexual harassment in order to provide maximum protection for all students.
